Why Life Modelling?

I have been asked many times why I started life modelling and also how I started. Well here is the story. I was asked by a friend who was an artist if I would consider posing for them for a project they were working on. I was not too sure at first but always liked the idea of seeing other peoples interpretations of how you look.

I was obviously nervous but also looking forward to trying something new. The session went well and I went away wanting to learn more about what makes a good pose and how to increase strength to be able to hold longer poses.

There was not a great deal of information about at this time but I did study drawing and paintings to try and recreate these poses myself. When you are trying to build your confidence and practice posing a full length mirror is your best friend!

I eventually progressed into modelling for classes which was a completely different atmosphere. I loved it just as much and to this day always have the nerves just before a session, which is never a bad thing. I love life modelling even more now than when I started, that is because you are part of a creative process.
